Forbidden Sound is a community-driven music brand rooted in festival culture and bold self-expression. The project focused on creating a distinctive merchandise range that reflects the energy of the brand and resonates with a young audience passionate about music and creativity.

We developed multiple visual directions for the merchandise, beginning with a retro-inspired series built around illustrated characters and bold typography that capture the playful energy of 90s music culture. Alongside this, we created a second design direction exploring a retro-futuristic aesthetic with more technical graphics and digital-inspired elements.

As part of the project, we also refined the Forbidden Sound logo by adjusting spacing and proportions to improve clarity and balance. From this, we developed a flexible logo system including a wordmark, icon version, and colour variations that could be applied consistently across merchandise and digital platforms.The brand was then applied across brochures, marketing collateral, social media strategy and a landing page, ensuring a consistent and scalable presence across all touchpoints.

The outcome is a versatile visual system that allows Forbidden Sound to express different facets of its identity while maintaining a cohesive brand presence across apparel, digital platforms, and community events.
